The Spanish River Boys Lacrosse program recently celebrated its 16th year anniversary. The team competes in Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 2A- Region R4- District D14
The Spanish River Boys Lacrosse program is lead by Head Coach, Brian Johnson who has been part of the Spanish River Family for over a decade. Coach Johnson who played Division I lacrosse at Stony Brook (N.Y.) will lead this this team and re build this program once again. Brian was awarded 2023 coach of the year in Palm Beach County. He is assisted by Coach Steven Finver who coached with Johnson at his stint at West Boca Raton High School. Finver currently runs the local youth league Boca Jets Lacrosse, worked with the MLL's Florida Launch before they shut down, and has coached with multiple travel programs in South Florida.
We have added as a goalie coach this year to our staff MJ Eisenberg. MJ played for Spanish River Lacrosse and graduated in 2019
Spanish River Community High School is a public, coeducational high school in Boca Raton, Florida. It is part of the School District of Palm Beach County and serves the cities of Boca Raton and Delray Beach.
Founded in 1983, Spanish River is a comprehensive high school that offers numerous Advanced (AP) courses. The school has four specialized academies: American History and Law, Biotechnology, Early Childhood, and Entrepreneurship.
The high school earned the highest rating of “A” based on student performance on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). The student population is approximately 2,395. Nationally, Spanish River ranks in the top 10% of public high schools and has captured more than 11 state championships, 100 regional championships, and a Directors’ Cup award.
